    9ish years, the seams in top of skull appear to have fused together.

    Others can have their say, but generally the teeth are first looked at when aging a deer for condition and wear and yes having the jaw in your hand you will be able to judge it more accurately.

    I know old deer farmers will also take in account for the condition and size of the burs where the antler joines the pedicle young deer will have a bigger bur and as they get older the bur gets smaller (very old deer often have parts of the bur missing) from what I have been told.
