We used to catch the train to mt White or Greyneys shelter and just chucked the 303s up in the luggage rack. No dramas back in those days. Have shot Chams in Red Beech and Binser and Reds at the Edwards and East Hawdon but more often than not came back with just lungfuls of fresh air and feet swollen and red from wet boots in the snow.

Done exactly what you have done except we were way more sofistimicated than 303s, we had 308s LOL. Never did the chammy at Binser but have done reds at Binser.

I’d say he is a bit pissed about the possibility of losing those grazing flats and is using this to apply some pressure to the powers that be, would be interesting if he stopped DOC having access up there too, as they have a massive trapping program up the Poulter in the NP, they use side by sides to get there.
I understand he’s stopped access thru the station to get to Lake Grace/Lochinvar etc

Sounds like an epic trip. I was on the other side of the road up the Cass River and worked up onto the tops. We saw plenty of chamois sign but not much fresh stuff. Heaps of tracks across the scree but only saw one chamois for the trip. We were walking along the ridge and it popped up max 10m away so managed to knock my first one. Definitely thought country up there though

well two can play that game....DOC needs to grow set of balls and remove HIS access to DOC land that he leases..it is after all public land.
