Blooded the 788, 1st NZ deer

Headed up Wanganui way this past weekend for HUNTS course trip.

Got a fallow spiker @ 144 yds, about 25 degree up. Speer 150 BTSP did the business, neck shot, blew out the vertebrae and he dropped like a ton of bricks

Brilliant weekend, learnt lots, tx to Ron, Jim, John and all the other instructors.

Boned him out yesterday morning, for 6.4 kg of steaks, and other cuts, and another 1.5kg of mince, and that excludes the heart, kidneys and liver

Tx to kiwi39 for lift back to civilization, and congrats to kiwi39-jr on his first goat.

That's extra nice, especially having recently done your rifle up an' all.

    Well done.

Haha Gibo, yeah, not to pleased with this new sheep poop feature, might have to take it to a gunsmith to get it checked out

    Good work EBF!
Rifle looks good next to an animal, what is the suppressor on it? If I can get the old 788 back from Dad, im going to knock barrel back and might chuck a DPT supp on.

That 788 has come up real good

Puku, it is the std weight DPT, very happy with it, good value for money. Running the modular rimfire one on my 795, awesome bit of kit.

I've had the 788 shortened to 18 inches.
