Awesome story and result there, that’s a classic bush hunting story I love it!Try to never lose concentration as you will aways seem to bump something when you’re thoughts start wandering from hunting zone.
Well done.

Well done.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms
Yeah, because there was a log in the way i couldnt aim as low as i wanted in that shoulder area. Was a couple of inches too hit but lots of lung blood so at least one lung was stuffed.
Those SSTs esp as they super perforance and going out of my 24 inch barrel are going pretty quick so i have found they not as great at dropping them in the spot at close range than a soft point 243.
I use them in my 308 as its my long range and backup rifle but tend toend up shooting animals in close lol.
Last hind i shot ran 50-60m before it fell over too with a perfert shoulder shot so i do prefer my 243 in close and the 308 for over 200m plus
That's a fine looking stag, great story and some real nice bush to hunt. No doubt you will endeavour to hit that spot again.
What an awesome stag bro! Well done
Nice mate! Just got my first Public land Red a week or two ago. Haven't seen a Stag yet though!
Who cares about the number of points - IMHO, a trophy’s value is in the challenge / experience it reminds you of, so that one is awesome. Hope to have one like it on my garage wall one day!
I like storys like this. Good skills chap.
