I'll get it right, sooner or later. :-) I know its a good calibre.
You need to come and live at home again for some more basic training.

I have a similar set up, definitely not lightweight camping though!
I bought a canvas tent off Trademe for a pretty good price and the G-stove off their .com.au site for a cripplingly expensive price

Yes, the chimney is glowing red, which might be why the floor got melted, even with the fire proof mat. I've since added some longer legs, I'm not sure if they were red hot too or if they were reflecting the glow from the firebox.

    I was not cold

I’m going to build a hearth to go under mine. Plywood and tiles. Like you say, not lightweight, but you drive there anyway.

Sat in that spot on Sunday on a walk out. We thought then it would be a great place to park for a few days!

Went in up over the ridge, stayed in the hut and out by the road. Was a great walk to check the area out! Definitely going to go back and put in a bit more effort on the hunting front. Good spot to intro the girlfriend to NZ hunting really.

Sure is. I’m in there most weeks! Might give it a break over the roar though.

Bound to bump into you at some point then. Good to know it's not just the yahoos that frequent the place! Imagine it gets pretty busy for the next 6 weeks.

Its a place where 10% of the hunters get 90% of the deer. Craig could get a deer from an Auckland hedgerow.

but all of Mums home cooking would require more time in hills to burn it off again......well actually looking at it like that ,there is no downside

It’s amazing the number of hunters you see there and yes there’s a number of f-witts too; usually evidenced by empty Cody’s cans or bits of animals thrown off the carpark bank. Oh and of course shots through the road end sign - the original calling card of the f-witt! 😀
