I'm drawn to the mountains and the bush, it's where life is clear, where the world makes the most sense.
Great trip. 1-1/2hrs from home and only $300 there and back???????? I seriously need to get out of this shithole.
No mention of the kazillion sandflies bombarding the camera. Are they like that inland?
Well flight was 300, fuel to town was bugger all and don't count food cos you have to eat whether you're at home or away! Sandflies...none where I live. But plenty once you get down to invers etc. they were quite bad at the island, more annoying than anything.

Nice area Mason's bay, great fun hooning low level down the beach after dropping guys off, Martins creek would be my favorite, seeing Kiwis is magic, people don't believe me that you see them out in the day.
Josh, did Bill or Ray fly you in?
Shut up, get out & start pushing!
They're inland a bit. You talking on the island or mainland? Never noticed them in the bush while we were there. I grew up with them so pretty used to them, but after living away from them and then returning to somewhere they're prolific, I find them even more annoying!
You shouldn't talk about Tim like that, it's not his fault he's built like an insect! Ha!

Great report Josh, would love to get down there for that experience, nice one!
While I might not be as good as I once was, Im as good once as I ever was!

Was talking about the island. Having thoughts about a trip there sometime. Definitely on the bucket list. Just a matter of getting the timing right. Stories like this don't help matters
Well if you want info on any particular blocks or areas send me a pm. Been to most of them.

Jealous mate, would love to hunt whitetail in NZ! Good write up
Fantastic fotos...know very little about the island, except that the best oysters in the world are found between it and the mainland!!
