Cheers, was bloody tasty alright! Was a young red to my humble eyes, taxidermist was saying by the ears, face and white on him he reckoned a hybrid. I'm no expert that's for sure, I just like old 303's, fresh air and medium rare venison. Happy new year everyone!

Good story, well told, and proves you don't need a hyper cal, fancy arse bang stick to do the job. Mine you the old drop block action of the large Martini, fancy in its self!

I have been collecting enfields but have two martinis now, pretty sure this one is an original carbine but the wood has been altered at some stage during the last century which I have a mind to restore to original. I have another project rifle which has a rough stock outline and brand new barrel on a martini action, should be mint when I get round to cracking onto it. Love the old rifles, feels nice walking round with something that has some good history and the martini action is very nice. Working on some hand loads so will have to take it down to the range and see if it shoots straight beyond stone throwing distance!

Nice rifle there Mac! Also nice red too. The sling you need to check at both ends as it looks about the same age as my one which had about 5mm of leather left holding it together. However, yours looks in better nick then mine was.
