They are in the exact condition you last saw them in, covered in mud and shit. Held onto them as it's a small world and thought we may cross paths again. I think I'll give the field shoot a miss but I can send them up with one of the boys if they decide to grace the shoot with their presence

    Mate he was a machine.
    Pointer likes this.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

Great story & well done on not firing untill there's a shot clear & identifyable shot. Was he a large antlered stag in good condition or was he sausage meat?

He was just a wee 4 pointer, can't have been doing much rutting as he was in reasonable condition and didn't smell at all. I took pretty much the entire back quarters as steaks, they're delicious, and turned the rest into mince and crock pot meat.
