    Yeah. All these deer were from two different sites in the Wairarapa. Fallow everywhere now; I’ve chased three of four down the road in the last month. :-)

    How would you rate the 284 compared to a 7mm rem mag? @craigc

    I had both for a while but preferred the shorter barrel of the .284. Same projectile, just a bit slower. Mines doing 2750 ft/sec but is accurate as and has killed a tonne of animals.
    I guess I prefer the .284 and if I was to go for a magnum I’d go for something big. That’s what I’ve done too, I’ve got a 300 RUM.

    How come you didn't go for a 7mm dakota or 7mm stw? They're quite cool calibers.

    I like the heavier 30 cal projectiles and I was offered the RUM at a good price; finding a Stug Stock for it sealed the deal!
