    Fill the freezer

Here’s a few photos of recent trips.

4 velvet red stags 400ms away feeding out early 3pm in afternoon. Lucky for them hinds are on the hit list.

    Fallow doe.

Good visibility, just hard long time getting over to them 1400m away and safe for that late in the day.

A hot day in the hill.

I was laying into goats in the rain when this spiker jumped out as I thought it was a hind at 230m. It was hard to I.D the sex of the deer because of rain on objective scope lens.

Because of the rain and bad visibility I swapped the main scope off for a red dot and run 151gr HP cast 308win hand loads. Bush stalking onto a small clearing shot at 20m.

A long range shot for the 16” 308win at 422m, the 168gr A-max did the damage and had a massive blood trail, he only went 20m from the shot.

Can you just switch between optics without needing to sight in again?

No need to sight in, have been using this type of setup in different rifles for 15-20 years, I even used this same 10 power scope setup on my 338 edge with no point of impact change out to 600m on deer just to see how well it works for a few months.

No way am I fit enough for that kind of country any more. Got to kick my lardy arse into action… too many gentlemanly quad bike hunts.

    Nice work.
    Awesome looking country.
