Just when I thought I couldn't hold my position any longer he showed just enough front shoulder for the shot......boom he took about a dozen shakey steps into the open not knowing if he was gonna bolt I put another one clean in his neck and he just fell over on the spot.
We made our way down and accross the creek and found him without much trouble and took a couple pics then gutted him.
The 145g eldx had totally obliterated his lungs, the first shot had definitely been a kill shot, he was probably dead on his feet when the second shot hit his neck.
My shot placement was perfect both shots went exactly where I was aiming. And almost no wasted meat.
All in all a great outcome.
He's probably somewhere between 100 and 130lbs at a guess @Sarvo , he's hanging in the buthchers chiller so I'll check on monday.
Well pleased to have the monkey off my back.
