Yea that, not the whole head
Im way out of touch with what its worth, it has to be cut at exactly the right time to fetch top dollar.

At a guess that might be worth a hundred bucks? But as i say Im out of touch with velvet prices.

I have no idea what the velvet is worth as I have never harvested it. I have a couple of neighbours that do though so I will ask next time I see one of them.

Sorry to be a bearer of bad news but that velvet is worth sweet FA. Shot velvet is almost a waste of time unless you have shit loads off a machine. It needs to be cut, cable-tied and frozen ASAP.
It is not even worth the hassle unless you know someone selling shot stuff. Farm stuff is recorded and graded accordingly.

Nice. Quite a young stag too, should be choice eating.

I still sell a little bit of shot velvet. If you pm me I can give you the contact.
It's heavily discounted. I tried mixing some up with farm cut stuff a few years ago and he spotted it straight away. He didn't say anything, but it all ended up in a separate pile. When he gave me the price on the shot stuff he just looked me straight in the eye and said "you should have run those ones into the yard and cut them".

If you manage to sell that stuff Rem700 you can use the all money you profit, after all your fucking around, to buy the 2 cable-ties you will need for the next lot.

I think one of our members has a deal with an Asian resturant velvet for free meals, could be another avenue to try.
