Post Getting the kids into it.

One of my boys mates has shown a lot of interest in hunting so now rugby's finished he has come over for a few hunts .Last Saturday he had some Target practice and a safety talk then up for a walk he nailed his first goat with a good shot.He was back this weekend and managed to shoot his first deer , he was stocked and couldn't stop thanking me big smiles all around. You should of heard the bullshit they were talking on the walk out, like they had been doing it for years.Cool to see mates having a great time on the hill.

Excellent work, those first hunts are so important in paving the way for our future shooters, far better "out there doin it" than sitting inside on a computer or roaming the streets.

Great stuff. I find it one of my favorite things now, taking people out who haven't ever had a chance to even shoot a plastic bottle or a rabbit. Even better when my kids get their 'firsts' too. Taking my 13yo on a big mission into the Ruahines for a few days in the school holidays to try and finally get his first deer - hes missed out on a couple so fingers crossed this time...
