    I think that it just had never grown. The top of the short one had a full coating of velvet.

    Long time back shooting Ureweras somtimes came across stags with only one antler or simikar deformities. At the time the thoughts were that the deer had suffered a back leg injury, like an old wound from falk, fighting or bullet. I have myself shot three that had deformed or a missing antler that had healed wounds in the back leg. Not always the case though.

    Good effort Tahr and Tilly,bet those muffins and tea tasted nice.Hope Tilly got something too,for that sharp nose radar.

    She always gets tit-bits while I deal to the deer.
    And she spends a lot of time burying hocks I shot 59 deer last year so that's over 200 hocks that she's got scattered around the country if she ever gets caught out without dinner There's even 8 out the back of Tekapo - I bet she found that hard digging - she always takes them out of sight and then re-appears when I'm ready to head off.

    A thermos at the truck is a life saver.

    Bruce......what can I say???? except Ive been there and done that too...I looked for an hour in wrong place.... good on you for doing what you do....must have chat about this soup kitchen set up.... most interested in how it is set up and can recieve your generous contributions.

    This particular one has a license to process gifted meat that is not for sale on premises. Not all do.
