Trigger dead easy to adjust, a quick bedding job is posible and dead cheap..they come from factory with a blob of hot glue..I SHIT YOU NOT..... those two stags are a fine reminder of the trip and effort you put in... getting the drop on a sika tells me you are pretty good at mousing along.
My previous hunting rifle was a 308 model 70 featherweight and its was awesome loved it. Moved from that to the bergara extreme hunter 308 with a 2.5-10x44 vortex viper which is what i used on the sika and its was awesome, got bush bashed and soaking wet every 2 or 3 days and broke the sling off it when i fell of the cliff and not one issue with that but i always felt over gunned. This one is sweet its a model 70 carbine in 243 with a 20" barrel that has an immaculate barrel just need to open up the barrel channel as it hugs the barrel and then bed it. Will get it threaded to take my 308 suppressor and put some talleys and the viper scope on it when i replace the 308's scope. But other then that it doesn't need much else only a recoil pad as the one thats on it is pretty crappy.

Good on you for finding the stag!!

just a question though...Why have you gone down from the .308 to a .243!!. Your bergara would have been perfect for bush hunting the sika.

Its a 1:10 twist and shoots 165gr best so was bought for reds mostly but as they say dead is dead. Just for the lighter faster projectiles , if the 308 was a slower twist and could shoot 130's accurately and abit faster then i would be using it for everything but a 243 to me anyway makes more sense shooting chamois, fallow and sika and also reds. Will eventually get into reloading and shooting something like accubonds at 3000ish fps versus 165grain doing 2500fps in the 308 is more appealing for lighter animals
Kudu and 300wsm for life like this.
