    Not sure why you would need a second shot using Hornady training ammo, goats I've shot with it have been dropped on the shot.

    Shot lots with Hornady training. Sometimes it works well sometimes not so much.

    My dad has done similar to what you're considering, except the other way. Shelved his Winchester 308 and now solely uses an SKS.

    The land owner wanted a cull, but we took legs off quite a few. Goat meat makes a good sausage.

    Just because it was developed for, and sees limited use by SF, doesn't mean they "have gone to 300Blackout". 5.56 is still the predominant caliber.

    [QUOTE=steven;302222
    There is at least one recorded instance of a platoon being tied down by Enfield fire from 500yds+ and they could not respond to it. Funny how the AR15 was poo pooed for Vietnam yet it was ideal and the M14 was not, and here we are again at the opposite end of the range card where a 308 is most useful.[/QUOTE]

    I thought each platoon had a sniper with a 14lb .50 cal Barrett strapped to his back....had he gone to get 'Starbucks'??????

    Nope. Snipers are usually a company asset. You have to be spesh for the OC to give you a sniper.
