    My wedding ring is in the safe.
    I wore it on the day and a couple of months ago we went out for dinner and i thought id put it on to make her happy. Apparently i put it on the wrong finger

    Fair call though, the point I was trying to make (poorly) is matches are no good. I do carry a small bic lighter, but even lighters have failed when wet.

    Learning to make fire with a spark is pretty fundamental survival skill.

    yep africa is alot easyer to light a fire,
    if id been out for that long in TZ idd a been eaten.

    Duck shootn was just as bad.
    Put the decoys out 2 weeks ago..the farmer next door decideds today is a good day to plow the paddock..
    Rite in front of the maimai...
    hear he is ripping around with all the lights on in his tractor from 6am onwards.
    then stops for 6 hours and dose the next paddock at 4pm tonight....
    hope his cat walks in front of me tomorow

    6MMBR, glad you are ok...that was a serious fall.

    If you are in tree fern country, you can always find dry leaves up under all the dead fronds hanging against the trunk. Ihave always taken a couple of pages of newspaper folded up in a plastic bag.

    Thats not the go Rushy,
    last time i did that i had to drop into a stream to wash my back.
    News paper has no grip it smears.

    What you talking about 6MMBR. You just need to know how to scrunch it up. All we had in the dunny in the first years of my life was news paper and magazine pagess hanging on a number eight wire hook in the long drop.
    It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

    6MMBR, glad you can laugh it off now your OK, we have all (i bet) had near misses that scare the shite out of us, but put a gin on our dials after the event, glad your OK mate.....heed the advice though!
