Cheers for that, I also try to have water back at the vehicle, plus clean set of clothes. Feel like a new man once in a fresh set of undies !

Went to buy some camouflage trousers the other day but I couldn't find any.

And respect the animals you kill too. Talk nicely about them. They are not "c-nts" or "f-ucking deer". And treat them well when they are dead. They are not horses to be sat astride of for bragging pics, and they look undignified with their tongues hanging out.

Respect the land, respect the game.
    Couldnt have said it better,

Love naming places, even if named by others as different. We have "bone Yard", "meat safe'' (loads of these) and "cricket pitch" etc

oh and bolts open in photos is best

We are heading to 'the mole in the hole' when game fishing this weekend, just because that's what it looks like on the sonar charts

You should consider writing a book about your hunting adventures Tahr, pass on some of that sage advice

A thing of such beauty. Sitting on the hill tops as the sun rises is such a life refreshing moment......serenity I bet any hunter doing this as per the pic, stops and has a we self absorbed moment going......ahhhh this is the life

    Thanks for the generous comments.

Just thinking, its actually "222 face". Not "223". I doubt the 223 was even invented back then. It was a .222 BRNO that I had.

And the rifle I used for this trip was my Sako 7 with an 18" barrel and DPT. And of course a great Stug stock. 7-08 & 120 NBT. 3-10 Nightforce SHV. A great set up, except for the parallax adjustment on the 'scope which is fiddly and no use to me really. Nice 'scope though.

Hamish, the hind and yearling were at the bottom of that face in the leatherwood on what I call the Island. So you will understand why I didn't want to go down there and back up with a load on.
