    Not strange at all. The more cantankerous you are, the less Covid affects you. I hope you are going to sanitise the surfaces before we get there for the Supercars.

    Well I never thought of myself as an old codger but after reading this and my next birthday being 70 I guess I fit the brief. Missing this year's roar due to still recovering from broken leg 6 months ago. Thought I would be up and running after 3 months but on the wrong side of 50 for fast healing. Hopefully get out in a couple of months as I have a new knife to blood. Great to see you all getting out there. It's the best excersize for body and mind.

    @john m - great pics on p2. What is that old codger cannon - old side by side hammer rifle with the large cartridges. What is it - some details please. I'd say alot of us have have had older firearms - and many will still have them.

    The one oldie still in my closet is a Savage Stevens side by side 12g from about 1930-35. Very much a bread and butter shottie 90 years ago, but still absolutely deadly on bunnies with Eley 3s and 4s. Kicks like a bloody horse esp when you don't have time or right angle for proper cheek weld when speed shooting from truck. Have shot vast numbers with it and usually end up with swollen cheek - but wouldn't feel right taking some other shottie out of the closet. Earned its place..

    E Paton and son in 450x3 1/4" bpe, damascus with Henry rifled barrels. Left and right poa 1" group at 50 yds useing nitro for black load and Woodleigh 350gr sp 1900fps. The rifle has been in our family over 80 yrs.

    If this keeps up, I’ll be doing 1/2 days only at the Supercars, fixed the starter on the ride on and cleaned the carb. put back together, mow my lawns and the next door neighbours, have lunch, then sleep for just over an hour, absolutely knackered. Good as gold now, have a red time.

    Greetings All,
    Old codgerhood strikes again. Nice and calm this morning so got the last of the highest gutters cleaned without any excitement. Was carrying the working platform from my scaffolding system to the next bit, hooked my toe on the edge of the deck and did a plant on top of the kit. No serious damage other than to pride but a rest day has been declared with work to continue tomorrow, body permitting.

    PS Swore I would get someone in to do the gutters this time. Maybe next year.

    We can't stop time but we can slow it down a-little . Covid has knocked us around more than some realise , I swear by The Tibetan 5-rites for feeling younger and less-tired , especially for accident-recovery (when I discovered it ) It took me 2-years before I could 'Do' the 3rd-move and it's still a careful-manoeuvre but it's better than anything I have ever tried before including pharmaceutical-fixes (antibiotics aside ) I've blahed-on about it many-times , but it's even cured my motion-sickness and my-Specialist now does it after seeing my results

    Into my 79th year now. I learned to grudgingly accept that I can't burn the candle ay both ends like O ised to. Home projects take precedence and take longer than they uded to, but there is still pride as each is completed. Hunting and shooting time is much reduced ad a result but still achieved albeit less frequently. Howevet, getting close to pegging day and duck seadon now so good tucker supplrments coming up . Will get to an eady feer sometime in a few weeks time I hope; ad long ad my big red old bike still syarts ha ha. As you get on though and the old puns can't hack a load anymore you just have be careful and accept that the old expectations have to be pruned a bit. Bugger, but hey, thats life and I've had a great run. Big thing now is to give my dog a fair go.
