Few photos from a quick Boyd trip Brett and I completed early December. The fishing was good fun, albeit really challenging. Eight fish were released unharmed, apart from a bit of toothache.
The deer were a little few and far between, with only 5 seen. I managed to tip one over at 450m about 830 on the second night. Although it immediately dropped at the shot, finding it in thick, tussocky scrub across 2 valleys proved tough without a dog.
Weather was perfect the whole time. Enjoy.
Pre-trip sight in at Taupo. The shot closest to the bull was with a cold barrel. Happy with that! Three shot group was about .5 inch. The 270WSM will hopefully do the trick down South on some tahr in January.
No more fixed wing service in here these days, sadly
The Burn
Gin clear water adds to the challenge
The Boyd Valley
Flight out. Still perfect WX
