Great write up, I enjoyed that. You’ve got me inspired to have a chat to my local DoC office to see if there’s anything needs painting around here!

    Hi Hebe
I met you at Colenso when you did the November run on the stoat traps. Well done on the hut painting, I am going through the process of renewing my hut agreement with DOC to continue keeping an eye on Otukota. I normally get in twice a year to give it a scrub and check over, and it is great to see the long deferred maintenance completed. My next project is to get a covered deck together and flown in so coats and packs can be hung up outside leaving more room in the hut. Have to work through the regs of doing it with DoC, if I keep it under 10 square metres I should avoid consents I hope! I am also working with a group of volunteers and DoC to get the access sorted for a more reliable way in that works for all parties. it was great to meet you and look forward to catching up in the scrub sometime, and thanks for your efforts, good news doesn't make the headlines like dickheads do!

    Cheers

Nice to see you on here. Have sent you a PM. The deck sounds like the perfect addition to the hut!
