It reckon it did as well. Just above the base of the neck top of the shoulder. But slow mo shows the swirl going under. Definitely low.

Yeah the puff of dust makes it look like that. I’ve got the raw footage and can slow it down to frame by frame. I can clearly see the projectile; it lands around the closest front foot.

Next time the deer won’t be so lucky!

Great to have the footage rather than second guess the miss. I have the same trouble at the range on 300m gong Unless it's a hit you can't tell where the hell it went! Maybe I should take your tip and use a camera.

I try to video every animal I shoot; it certainly is helpful to work out wether its a hit or a miss.

    Or a spotter.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

@craigc running the numbers thru Strelok with as you say 100yrd zero i don't get anything like 14 inches drop unless velocity is way way down below what i would expect even with the shorter GG barrel, what velocity/BC are you using for your iphone app . . .
    without a picture . .. it never happened !

I was using .2300 as the BC (auto settings in Shooter) and I had 1800 as the velocity; that might be a bit slow, I changed it to 1900 and that brought the drop up quite a bit. I’m going to run it over the chrony and shoot some gongs/targets later next week.

Will be interested to see the results @craigc. Most peoples feedback is that the stated 2050fps is overstated and that the guide gun can expect around 1800 fps or slower.

cheers craigc, how is the accuracy at 100yds . . . i expect just under 2MOA as a good average with my GG using soft cast bullets, wind drift is noticeable as the range increases past 100yds.

trigger control, with the slow lock time a good follow thru i find a must if you want good results
