Great read, reminds me a bit of lugging round a Mosin Nagant in the back of the Ford Laser hatchback!

Ha ha yeah with my limited experience in the tahr department I would say they are about as dopey as a goat, with the mature animals obviously being the exception. Or else north island deer must be a lot smarter than the southern brothers

Didnt mean in intelligents more hunting deer is dumb compared to tahr. I love the alps and hunting in them if you go home empty handed at least you have been to and seen areas only .002% of nz has.

Ps before people start arguing deer hunting is better than Tahr im just taking the piss relax.......

Yip agree with that, would rather be in the alps than some damp shitty bush anyday of the week hands down, hence why I moved to Christchurch!

No worries mate. Its just that I am sure I have shot some steel plates that were smarter than most thar I have encountered. The only challenge and lure of thar hunting for me is the country you find them and they happen to be one of my favourite sources of protein.

Best thing about Tahr is if you spend 2 hr climbing to get into position they will politely stand there while you shoot them.
