so the long awaited south island trip turned up and we were all planned to head south for the week.
i gave @BRADS a heads up to see if he wanted to come. didnt work out haha so me and the twin brother headed south with a great weather forecast for the week a head we hit the ferry with smiles and all Name: IMG_1219.jpg

after staying the night in christchurch we headed further south to meet the chopper for the start of the next week in the hills.
after setting up camp and glassing for a bit a plain was set in motion and my twin had his sight set on or first tahr for the trip and for a bit of meat so bark went the 308 and dinner was sorted.Name: IMG_1244.jpg

later that evening lots of animals were seen but none taken. next morning with awesome weather had us glassing at first light only to be greeted with two red hines about 1km away so off we headed and put in a little work and had some meat to take home. Name: IMG_1267.jpg

that afternoon we headed up the valley to where we had seen a group of nice looking bulls up higher. after a steady climb had us at about 1200mtrs in some really shitty monky crap so hanging on for a breather i looked out into a opening and spotted two nice looking bulls only 220 meters away so the 7mmwsm let rip and i had me a nice 11inch bull with a awesome spring coat for the floor Name: IMG_1283.jpg

Great trip. That little tripod for your camera looks pretty handy. What model is it and where did you pick it up from please?

@JACec it's a manfrotto pixi mini tripod cost was $39 from Harvey Norman. But I'm sure you can get on cheaper somewhere else. It did work great and is fast and ezy to use and will pivot for angle no worries
