Great photos, cool to see some deer out on the open country! What condition was the mania track in?

Thanks for that. It's an incredibly special place up there, my happy place of all areas in the Ruahine Ranges.

What temp do you think you'd be happy using the One Planet Nitrous -3 down to @30late?

I am planning on heading up to Kelly Knight when I have enough brownie points and the weather is a little more stable.
Do you know if the Pourangaki river be accessed from the end of Pourangaki Road or is it a walk up from the bridge?

I was in the national park two nights ago, few hundred meters below snow line. Not sure how cold it got but rifle was icing within a minute outside. I was toasting hot in the Nitrous -3 wearing thermals. Hardest was getting out of it…

I was camped in the same area end of April and the last morning woke up to a hoar frost. Tent fly was iced up and i was only just warm enough wearing thermals socks and warm top, but i am a cold sleeper so a good test for my bag.
As for access from the end of Pourangaki rd i am not sure what the go is there, its been many years since i've been up the river from there .
