I haven't posted bugger all in a while now, Summer usually sees me taking a break from the hunting to give the fawns chance to hang onto mum, I'm not one to drop hinds with young fawns so I usually just take it easy, I've been out trail running, a bit of exploring to see what animals are about, and firewood gathering for winter usually takes priority.
We have had a few cooler mornings lately and I have noticed a couple of hinds in a spot I keep an eye on, one had a large fawn that I'm fairly confident is weaned, and the other was a nice looking hind that over the last few weeks looks to have had no hind at foot, She was my victim for some late Summer venny, nothing fancy going on here, an easy aimed shot through the boiler room and she hit the deck at around 100 yards.
A mans not complete without a splitting axe
My typical stock standard pic of dead meat animal and shooter.
