Too much work, not enough hunting

Well havnt been on here for a while as ive been flat out working.

Finally got out for a walk last weekend for a scout. No sign was seen but plenty of feed around. Im guessing most animals will be up high this time of year
Planning on heading out for an overnight trip tomorrow so will keep this updated on how i go.

Heres some pics from last weekend walk with Buck.

Yep. One more down and up, and you'll be amongst it

I was up that valley last weekend. Didn't cross over into the next valley west like you but didn't see any animals in there either.
Wasn't you guys with he blue ute what looked like it had surf boards on top parked at the bottom of the track?

Haha yeah that was the plan for this trip but unfortunately once we got to the spot there was already 3 vehicles parked up and another group about to go in forgot about the long weekend
So canned that idea and headed up the main valley, again lots of vehicles but mainly trampers and fisherman from what i could see, so thought we would try our luck. We ended up spotting 2 hinds and a yearling, which i was stocked about as with all the foot traffic i wasnt to hopefull. As usual i chose the wrong spot to be glassing from as once i spotted them i needed to get across to the other side of the river, with no cover i tried taking it slow stopping every few metres checking them, but they must have spied me or winded me as they took off at a great rate only stopping for a quick look back, im guessing they were laughing at me
Another lesson learnt, and to spot some animals made the trip worth while and cant wait to get back out there, hopefully sooner rather than latter
