Turning back the clock....like the good old days

Hi, just another quick report on the hunting front.
Had the day off and went pig hunting with my mate who i hunted with lots 30 years ago. Went back to a old haunt where years ago we got alot of pigs.
I remember back then 9 weekends in a row we got a boar over 130lb up to 185lb. It was also the place where i got my second boar over 200lb (205lb) with his 2 bailers,
chasing us around in the gorse until he managed to shoot it.
Anyway, it was always going to be a very casual hunt. He can hardly walk with a bad ankle so i be the one chasing the dogs and im getting too old for this pig hunting nonsence lol.

Anyway, had a quick look around for some sign, found none and i decided to go ahead up a wee track with his two dogs 500m or so and call it a day.
Near as far as i was going to go the dogs disappeared and i lost them lol.
Didnt hear a thing, knew they were on a pig so after awhile listening i made my way back to my mate you was crawling alot to meet me.(he had the tracker)

Yip, they had one up there he said, they killed it, must of been very small.
While we waited for the dogs to return my mate noticed one of the dogs seemed to be hunting again without the other and lower down started bailing!

Shes by herself, you better go my mate says, if the other dog doesnt get there you have to shoot it. So of i ran, heading to a good bail with just the one dog.

I get close, its in a easy spot compared to the rubbish elsewhere, the dog still has it bailed and i load up the 223.

I sneak in and see the pig, she hasnt seen me and i wait for the dog to get clear and shoot it!

Success, the one dog did very well, a nice sow just over 70lb.

Mate arrives, thinking its like the old days, turning back the clock. This time instead of big boars its a size i can handy lol.

Carry it back to the truck and of home happy as.
