Well, maybe not if you have a tail.

Wow, these wobblies are getting to be quite the pest aye.
I've never even seen one.
Love to tag along and learn how its done but you guys are not only fitter than me, I wouldn't have enough ammo lol
well I wont be popular for saying this...but tough shit
SOME of the farmers in the hunterhills area have nobody but themselves to blame...they would not and still will not allow access onto land to shoot wallabies, pigs or deer, there are small DOC blocks and larger DOC blocks behind that with access through private land between them and NO FIREARMS ALLOWED.... so it in effect causes a huge nursery area look it up. mt nimrod block its a huge area with really piss poor access.
the forestry blocks used to allow hunting via permit and gate key on weekends..that got shut off 20 years ago.
DOC doesnt help with access and wont even maintain tracks, like the one through gorse up into hook bush.

The article even says the land owner is "forced" to invite recreational hunters to his land, as if that is an absolute last resort. Shame it is viewed like that.

Not wanting to hijack that's thread but mention has been made of waste. On the last trip I decided to try biltong, and took all the fixings much to the amusement and ridicule from my fellow traveller. Removing the back legs from a handily close donor animal I set to it one afternoon. In the photo of it drying the socks were added by my companion for comic effect although he said they will probably taste better. Two days of sun and a dry cold atmosphere and it was done!. Another 3 batches ended up being made before we came home, the last having to be finished when at home where the cat took rather too much interest. It's been quite a hit with everyone who's tried it mind you a bit of advertising helps.
You southern guys have a great untapped resource there literally just a hop away.
Wallarats. I don’t even like touching them.
Good job on the biltong though.
Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing, and right-doing, there is a field. I will meet you there.

I have eaten them a few times (roasted and minced into patties) and thought it was good. I made some burgers for a dozen workmates a while ago (spiced up with portk fat) and all that tried them were impressed.

Top notch trip guys you will keep pretty fit walking them hills, I did hear that you ran out of ammo one day need to pack more , nothing worse than walking back to the hut and wallies still hopping about.
That breakfast you cooked up Rod would fuel you up for a good while on the hill.
Well done you guys.
