Unfortunately a fact of life for us lot stuck up here in paradise. Kaimais is nearest and that is only 2 and a bit hours, but bloody hard work once you get there. I personally prefer to drive the extra and go to Ruatahuna.

Nice to have one hanging up in camp early into a trip Outnabout ,bit of prime veni great addition to the freezer too.
Not so bad VC if you can swing a few days leave to tack onto a weekend ,makes it worth while.
Like Rushy saying its normal, be nice to live in the Nelson lakes district ,or anywhere in the south island again .

Picked up a mate on the way down. Stopped in Taupo for a couple of hours for another mate then on from there. Makes for a long day both ways. We were on a private back country block.
