So instead of going up the creek I sidled a ridge in the rain.

Plenty of sign, was about two hours in when I knocked over a spiker.

Loaded up my stealthy 55kg fisique then 3hrs later out of the supple jack to the welcome sign of the creek.

I was fair buggered when I got back to the ute, then off to milk the bloody cows. Drenched to the bone with sweat and rain.

    Greetings Dundee,
Had a trip like that during Cyclone Bola. We had been to Parkes Peak Hut and came down the Sentry Box Track. Below the hut the track was way out in the stream so we wound up wading through the water up to our knees pushing through the manuka. Not something on my to do list then or now. Fortunately we did not have to cross the Sentry Box stream and got back to the car OK. Funny that these are the trips you always remember.
    Regards Grandpamac.
