The one that left me amazed was the video (Solo 3 day deer hunt | success!) where he inadvertently shoots (3) deer (footage I probably wouldn’t have shown if it was me) but being the good sort he is he decides to carry as much meat out plus his gear.
At the end of the 8km trip he weighs his pack and it weighs 86.2kgs!!!!! Over 70kgs of boneless meat!!
Total endorsement of the Macpac pack I reckon

no way..this fella seems to be the real deal through and through..no bullshit at all...very impressed with his ethics too...always drags carcase away from water and buries it...shown of video...cant fake that.

and that epic pack weight..was shown on scales,12hrs for 8kms if memory serves me correctly...and looking at cuts of meat on bench,it was all there... he makes a point NOT to do so again mind...and given option shoots smaller of two....we all live n learn

yes seeing the wallaby,my thoughts were...oh man,get Dad (who does his reloads for him) to whip up a few subsonic loads, just for goats and wallabies, and maybe canada geese . that wallaby was somewhere it probably shouldnt have been.

I remember that. Amazing effort. Probably more than his own bodyweight.

I watch all his stuff, entertaining and modest. A very gutsy and fit fella.

Thanks for this. This guy is great. It makes me wish I had some mountains to glass instead of the scrubby bush to bash!

Identify your target beyond all doubt because you never miss (right?) and I'll be missed.

An unassuming legend in the making. His circumnaivigation of Stewart Island over three episodes is epic.

Thanks for alerting us to this guy and his mate. Just watched the one where he sneaks up on the Thar and gives it a fright.
Oh the exuberance of youth! Great to see ethics and decisions not to shoot. And above all, having fun and learning all the way.
    Long may his successes continue.

@Staffnurse41 I'm genuinely interested to know why you wouldn't have shown that footage?

Great question and deserves an answer. Certainly the footage made the video way more interesting.
And I have had it happen once with two deer as I approached a clearing in the Longwoods. I guess the sad truth is I am only a very average hunter who loves the adventure of exploring new areas. I like to plan things out and research my gear and pack purposefully for a trip - so kinda a bit OCD. For me to shoot 3 deer when I only wanted one (and I am definitely a meat hunter!) would be firstly embarrassing, and secondly I know my capabilities and only the meat effectively from one animal would be making the trip home. Some people like Tasman can have a laugh at themselves and some can’t - most times I am in the second camp.
