I would look at a new mitsi, holden, nissan or even a ranger or mazda.

keep ya surf for 6 mths and save ya coin, you will still get the same trade in price in 6 mths time.
some great deals and low intrest rates and services arrangements going all the time for new utes and in ten tears time your ute will be 10 years old not 16, Toyota will have you bleeding out ya arse for there out dated models and sevice costs.
wait til fielddays and save thousands........ 34k is 3/4 the price of a new ute.

Injector seals had been done, Snorkel goes on tomorrow as part of the deal
    Thanks for the replies,
As much as I would have liked a Ranger [I went to the Ford people first] the Ford people here were not really any help when I asked them about how I would be able to get into a newish second hand Ranger, in fact they were no help at all, the mans comment to me was "Most people just write a Cheque"
The Toyota is now parked in my driveway.

These trucks are farmers or contractors trucks and they get flogged.
Mate of mine who works in forestry told me about a pair of 06-ish Tritons they bought because they were so much cheaper than Hiluxes... he referred to them as 'the inkjet printers of the car world'. Among other things, both of them needed gearboxes rebuilt after less than 30k. Dealer seemed to think that was pretty normal apparently. Maybe the newer ones are better, but it doesn't inspire confidence.

Fair comment about the power. I've often looked at the power figures and thought they are woefull. What about a 550nm Nissan ute?
