Regarding rear diff lock, base model has it and the charger x, top model.
My 4wd dosent cause for an extra 5k I could put an aftermarket locker in and have some change if I wanted to.
Should have read for the "extra 5k"..

Old boy I know has a 2015 model and has put 140K on it in the last two years from new. Almost always has the tray loaded with a couple hundred kilos of pumps and lawnmowers. He's been extremely impressed and hasn't had a single issue as far as I know.
Own a 2012 Triton charger X with 72000 kms on the clock.Generally goes alright but there are a few issues. 1:When climbing moderate to steep inclines TC can engage and de-power at the most in-opportune times, if in doubt dis-engage ASC before starting climb. 2:Recently replaced front tires only to find that the TC speed sensors pick up the difference in tire diameters and engages. As stated above it engages the brake on the wheel on outside of turn, potentially sending you into the water table or across road if not ready for it. Fun times.Ended up replacing all 4 tires to get matching diameters. 3: The rear departure angle is abysmal, continually drag your arse going into and out of creeks or up/down banks. This pushes the chrome tin-foil bumper into the bodywork, most help-full ! Have just fitted an MCC jack rear bar. Might still drag its arse but at least it won't bend.Apart from these minor issues a good ute for the money.Opposition no better for a lot more money.
one bad thing the turning circle is bloody awful compared to a hilux or ranger
um? latter Tritons have very good turning circle, was best in class.

I had the 2012 triton charger x , loved it I honestly couldn't fault it and it got a hiding.
Sold it and got a new 2016 triton gls and it's been great for the 40000km iv done in it .
All my utes get used on the farm in the shit, towing heavy loads always covered in mud not those highway 4wd wannabees.
Love the high low difflock , they are great value.

I don't know how they stackup on manufacturer specs but my Triton absolutely smashes Hilux and ranger turning radius, to the point where I can do a U turn in the main street of town where mates wouldn't even think about it.
Hillstart assist in the Triton is the least intrusive ive seen, we nearly slid down a firebreak in my mates Ranger after it locked the brakes up going reverse to first when we needed to get the hammer down
