    3.2L Duratorq injection pump and injectors?

    Ok, so apparently I am in the market for a injection pump, rails and injectors (x5) for a 3.2L Duratorq motor as fitted to the 2013 era BT50's and Rangers. This particular one is a Ranger 6-speed manual for what that's worth.

    Where would be the best place for these parts? Roughly an $8K job at the service agent, I'm not sure it's worth investing that in a 9-year old ute. Interested in parts prices though... Cheers

    get a new engine. low kms second hand is a better way to go?

    Unsure, haven't investigated but would suggest it would be a lot higher cost wise and a lot of second hand engines are not moved as a drop in unit - you get a long block and are expected to swap parts out in my experience.

    Or a Mazda? Unfortunately nothing else survives engine wise. 2L twin turbo grenade young, even the hilux didn't live through 100,000km. This failure was the result of dealer not following instructions from 2013 to alter the servicing schedule to a more frequent one so not really the fault of the engine or the design - if it wasn't fuced up by the workshop likely wouldn't have failed. Problem is now what to replace it with, the only option is looking like the 3L V6 diesel which means another Ranger.

    More frequent serviceing is probably not gonna help the longevity of your pump and injectors unless you constantly put dirty fuel in it/run it on waste oil etc.
    "Hunting and fishing" fucking over licenced firearms owners since ages ago.

    Which is the piss off - only filled off commercial sources. Mostly large cities - only a few backwaters but all commercial suppliers. At the low mileage it's travelled it shouldn't have suffered this failure - and no real explanation forthcoming apart from filtration failure or servicing clusterflucks. With the numbers of post service driving home bonnet popups on this vehicle and number of times I've found FOD left under the hood I have no idea why I didn't ditch them years ago.

    BT50...............enough said.
    I picked our one up after a leaking injector and by the time I got home the thing was boiling its nuts off as EGR cooler had failed for the second time in 2 years.

    Was towed back to local Stealership and fixed then traded in, never came home

    They have their own pet problems. Personally would never have another Hilux after dramas I've had in the past - engine was about the only thing that didn't fly to pieces. I don't think any of the new generation vehicles are perfect - the thing I'm going to really hate is the Govt mandated roll out for biofuels and especially biodiesel. Be OK if its a 5% blend of actual cracked biodiesel but if it's the tallow blended fat brews and not proper 'biodiesel' I'll eat my hat if these new diesels will run on it.

    I'm really interested to see how the new EV utes go as tow vehicles as an interest thing - ev traction motors can keep piling the torque on as the load goes up and can fry batteries and even themselves through overheating and excess current draw. But man they can pull just prior to the magic smoke escaping! A bit of an aside from the current issue I have to be fair though.

    if you fix put in a second fuel filter/water trap as the rail is under such high pressures that any amount of water getting in can ruin the fuel system. I have a similar motor my my defender and put in a racor 230r like this since I got it.

    Learned from family in russia who run transits fulltime 24 hours a day in a transport firm. Stopped fuel rail problems immediately
