Good project Danny, better than giving some dealer 20k profit and if something breaks you can fix it.

definately not.....it's a learning experience. I have just enough mechanical knowledge to be detrimental to my bank balance.......I have some very handy friends and I help them with labour they help me with skills and equipment, it's a symbiotic relationship
My friend who's engineering workshop my truck is stored at, is currently building a couple of unimogs, 1 as a camper and the other to onsell those thing's are impressive. he's quite the clever cookie and has some cool toys in his workshop.

Today was a bit of a bust.....spent the morning trimming back the remaining bits of the wellside then stopped for lunch after which i figured I'd test fit the xr6 seats......this did not go well
My seat rails are apparently different to the ones the huracan kit is designed
Spent the next 3 hours trying every which possible combination to get the seats to work with the adapter to no avail....
Finally came up with a solution but no time to enact it......oh always next week i guess.

Spent another 1/2 day on the Cruiser yesterday. Managed to get the drivers seat all mounted up, had to basically butcher the rails off the factory seats and make mounts that corresponded to the factory mounts on the floor pan of the cruiser.
A bit of mucking around getting the seat centered behind the steering wheel but very happy with the solution as I was able to drop the seat base height down about 50mm (giving me heaps of head room) and also move the seat back an extra 50mm as well, whilst still leaving plenty of storage room in the cab behind the seats.

We used 8mm thick flat bar bent and drilled to fit the factory mounts (passenger side shown mocked up), then welded the factory rails to the flat bar mounts so these seats now bolt in to the factory seat mounts and are rock solid.

Next visit, I'll get the passenger side finished then get both sets of mounts tidied up and painted with chassis black, then hopefully I can finally get back to finishing the cab off and spraying the bed liner on the floor.
It's all steps in the right direction at least.

I really rate those tyres. I have a 20 year old set on my Safari. Numerous punctures and damage etc, but still hold air and hook up nicely when you let loose with all 130hp

Would be ideal but would likely involve a fair bit of faffing around, I'll make sure I fit big rear vision mirrors. In reality this truck is unlikely to see many on road kms and most of the offroad kms will be at walking pace.
This is being built as a go anywhere I feel like toy.

more for not getting t boned at intersections if you want good mirrors the 84 up landrover defender units are great hold adjustment and fold into body when in the bush .
