@dannyb I've heard Hurricane adapters are shit. I believe McKinnon’s Cruisers in aussie have a better solution if you want to go down the path of the xr6 seats.
Alternatively I've got a set of leather BMW e46 seats that can be fitted into a 60 with Torfab brackets. There is a video on how to get electric positions and heated options working. Only want $200 for them too

there's bound to be requirements if there's a seat belt attached to it or air bags...

Can you pm me details or your contact information so I can discuss ? Mckinnons don't appear to make seat kits for 60 series, and the torfab version I would have to buy (early 65) I would need to cut lots of my floor and original mounts off and drill mounting holes etc quite a bit of modifying and it would not stand up to LVVTA standards for many reasons no doublers, not capitve/fixed nuts for the mounting bolts etc etc. That would also be irreversible.
The beauty of the huracan kit is that it uses the factory mounts and is 100% reversable and the falcon seats have no internal electrics that could short out in a water ingress situation.
What exactly have you heard is "shit" about the huracan kit ? as I have only found good feedback in my research thus far, genuine query as I'm trying to reduce my cert headaches not make them worse.
    Thanks
    Danny

They are pre approved for certification standards, guess I'll find out, some of the earlier version were voluntarily recalled and beefed up on some models, dunno if that was the 60 series version.

similar, may not chop the chassis shorter at the back.....unsure on that yet, need to do some more LVVTA research on requirements if I do that.

    Is that your's or a customer ?

If you talk to your certifying outfit and they are happy to cert using the bolt-in kit with the Falcon seats, that's 99% of your issue sorted. Getting through cert is like the Monopoly moment - pass Go take your $200 and be happy! If there is an issue with the adapter rail kit going forwards after you get cert, that's a warrant compliance thing and then you can chop chop if you need to. The less headaches you have to get cert and get the thing on the road the less time and cost you have to endure!

As far as cert/wof - there aren't any standards on the SEATS themselves (i.e. the arse perch foam and fabric bit) but the mounts, mounting hardware adjustment and rails all must be serviceable and secure. One car I got involved with recently failed the WoF due to the driver's seat not being secure in the lowered position on the height adjustment. The bushes and pins on the adjustment arms and cam setup had basically all developed enough slop over 14 years that the seat wobbled back and forwards about 75mm - it was all fully 'secure' i.e. not falling out but just the cumulative slop on all bits was just garbage for the 'grab and shake' test.

But, with the seat in the fully up position tight as a new one - flew straight through recheck. (Haha take that WoF guy - didn't check it at another setting!).

it will save me hours of fabrication and hassles with the certifier, plus I can fit factory seats back in if that is ever a consideration in the future, as to fit the swift seats there will need to a be a lot of cutting, removing the factory seat mounts, welding and doubler plates to be fabricated. Even if I follow the LVVTA guidelines to the letter it could all end up being a massive headache
The Huracan kit is all bolt in and very slick, Xr6 seats are comfy as too.
i put recaro seats from a mitsubishi in my old landcruiser, with landcruiser - recaro adaptors, but the belts were mounted on the seat in the cruiser and on the floor on the recaros, so i had to get all the doubler plates etc from repco, and they still moaned about extra stuff each time. such as the corners of the doubled plates were too square and needed rounding, then the bollts through the floor needed to be longer, then the rivets werent monel grade etc. was just a ball ache.

Picked up a set of xr6 bucket seats today and ordered the adaptors this morning from huracan, at least with the 60 series the seat belts are already floor mounted so I can use all the factory mounts.

Seats picked up for $100 each just need a steam clean which will happen later this week
