Not just nissan. It plugs in after (or before - I'm not sure) the ecu and controls the diesel side of things. So still have the ecu failsafes etc but more power...

i dont know what his chip is ill fine out but shes quick, even gives the altezza a run for its money
I drove a new ranger then drove it again once it had a few kays on it. A different truck then, freed up heaps & went quite a bit better... Get the chip though and let me know how good it is... I'm quite keen as I have a chip in my turbo Falcon, makes a BIG difference

and you can take it out of the system if you take it in for a service.

Or in the claws case, when all the extra boost blows a turbo pipe to bits you take it off before you put it in for a warrenty claim
    DAF likes this.
If its guns, tits or tyres it's going to cost you lots of money

Gotta eat my words. The new BT50 is the shizzle. I love it!
Sure the looks are a bit different but actually are better in the flesh and it goes like an absolute animal.

I had a BT50 for the day for a test. Unfortunately for Mitsubishi I had a Hilux the day before to test. BT50 goes ok without a load but with a trailer on and the back full of tools it was horrible. I much prefer the STX in looks and how it drives. The BT50 is too much like a car(if that makes sense).
I went for the Hilux. Even though in standard form it is incapable of anything remotely 'off road'.

6 speed manual. No big deal. Lotsa torque so any gear goes!
