If you made it small and light enough you might be able to transport it upside down on top of the quad, so you could move it and the quad on a small single axle trailer instead of a tandem.

This is mine made with an Ali frame and a big plastic bin.
Trailers are fine until you lose traction and they start dragging you down hill. Can be death traps on wet hill country so be careful.

+1 for Rugermans idea. You could make a road trailer the same width as your quad, The front wheels of the quad would drive over the ramp/mudguard. Only drawback would be that you need to use road tires, and the cost would be more than the other options you've been presented
