ahh motorbikes the memorys - heres a good one true - we were at the big river in Gisborne late sixties most of the boys on british - I had my Mk 3 Zodiac - me mate Meph ( now sadly passed on ) asked if he could borrow it to take a young lady home - must have fancied his chances- could I take his bike back into town for him - so my cousin Nat and I got on his 500 trumpy Daytona and followed - now there is a 3-4 mile long straight along beach front - we could see my white Zodiac in front of us - I waved back to Nat lay down and opened the 500 up - we shot past the zodiac at about 90 mph - I will never forget the look on Mephs face as we shot past - pure shock- you bastards my beloved daytona

here is the main reason i started looking at 650 Triumphs with a 4 speed box . . i just love this machine, your going to understand or not.

that is a very nice triumph - one bike from those days ( okay a little later ) I really liked was the BSA Rocket three - dont see many these days except at odd bike shows- some one does not want to remember - my mate Big John bought a 450 Ducati single about 1968-69 -looked like a trail bike - holy crap it did cranks like lollys -older brother had the first of the 5 speed 650 bonnevilles that was a nice bike - when I go over to Gisborne I take his 750 Bonny ( 76 I think ) out for a nostalgic run - just got to remember it aint got brakes - cause the old girl crackles along quite well

Sold my KX250, for this....may have to sell something else
With electric start and air forks, on the fly engine maps etc it's a bit of a technological step up from the last machine.

Welcome to the 21st century of dirt bikes. Oh so much fun and capability.

The Japs have just let the Europeans romp all over them when it comes to dirt bike advancements over the last two decades.

    Very nice, go the gasgas!

I moved from a YZ250 to this GasGas EX250. Unreal how smooth and clean it runs, loving it

A Yamaha I owned for 2 weeks in vietnam. Bought for $200usd, sold for $150.
Spent $100 on repairs during the trip:
Every couple of days I would get work done, which was remarkably fast and hassle free..
    Wiring/Lights issue fixed
    Brake pads & shoes replaced
    engine & trans Oil change
    Collapsed Front wheel bearing replaced
flooded engine drained of water and restarted.

    Shit bike, great trip.

    Whats the range like ?
He nui to ngaromanga, he iti to putanga.

You depart with mighty boasts, but you come back having done little.
Sounds like a typical hunting trip !

120km stated but that is under ideal conditions (smooth surface/flat). Practically, we are expecting about 60km. Plenty for what we need. Early days yet.

Sort of... if you peg a piece of cardboard up against the spokes.

A phone and a small blue tooth speaker or two and it will make whatever noise you want...

45km one way trip to pick up this venison. And a fair bit of "whats not vertical is overhang" terrain thrown in for good measure. Ebike...yeah nah.
