    I'm assuming you'll have the fresh on one side and the grey and black on the other? Should have sufficient room over the fresh tank in that case? Even if you have to adjust the chassis a wee bit - but that's easier said than done if you don't have engineering gear on tap.

    What size/model do you have Ingrid, is building a plywood false floor an option above/around dinning area, guns in under with bar locks thru trigger guards

    It’s a 2009 Jayco Discovery Poptop. Great van that’s served us well including multiple South Island trips. Possibly a false floor in area you suggest but table leg would have to be extended to accommodate knees, esp sons who break the 2m height laws.

    Could the deep drawer under the bed, be made slightly narrower and allow for a safe to be fitted down the side of the drawer?

    Thinking outside the square... It is probably easier to buy a take-down rifle that when taken down fits in your shorter cabinets.
