Nice. I have driven a few miles in land rovers fur decades ago but never since.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

A quick tallyup says I've owned eight over the years, all series 2s.

Nothing like the surprise of a popped axle to make your day......

Note; never try reversing hard and pulling out another stuck Landrover at same time lol

Excellent air ventilation and of course easy access with those spectacular door and window locks lol

Enjoyed many an adventure... enjoy yours!!!!

Topping up the oil is cheaper than a ring job lol

Agreed. They didn't like me in my rip shit n bust mode.

My LandRovers remain a fond favourite memory. Nice to see some folks still want to drive them. Good on you!

They didn't, meet EU safety standards for collision with pedestrians is why they stopped making them.

Yep which I understand was almost entirely due to that iconic front end... Even my new one hasn't changed much from the 1947 shape.

Can't make a proper Landy without that shape!!

Interesting tho I still much prefer getting about in my older series trucks.

Did you have to etch prime the metalwork before you painted it?

I know nothing about painting alloy and very little about painting anything else.

Looks really smart that landy, you did.

Yeah my little girl and I prepped and painted in the shed ... It isn't flash but then again neither is the truck haha.

Little primer where needed. But mostly as my grand father used to say - a lick and a promise.

I find it hard to believe that they couldn't just modify it a touch to make it legal, after all the Jeep wrangler and Mercedes G-wagon are still in production and similar shape.
I reckon if Landrover really wanted too they could've modified the design to make it easier to build, meet regulations and make it more up to date with what people expect for the price and still make a rough and ready model that farmers and tradesmen would actually buy.

Any who.. new paint jobs look great, I need to give my wifes 90 and my Disco a new paint job and a general tidy up, or in the case of the 90 some serious rust repairs.
