Awesome days racing last Saturday for the second round of the GNCC series being the Taikorea 500. I got a great start in the intermediates class, very nearly getting the holeshot. Had a nasty crash at the 8min mark of the video where it was just pure luck I didn’t break myself. Unfortunately it did twist the triple clamps on my bike so I rode the rest of the race with crooked handlebars but still managed to battle through for my best result of the year getting 3rd in my intermediate 2-stroke class and 35th overall across 86 riders from all classes (experts, intermediates, ladies, vets etc). Fitness has to be good for this one in the sand and luckily I was well prepared but it still took a bit of speed and effort management to not blow out and hold a pace that I could sustain for 2 hours. Great fun
