what part of 0-100 in around 3 seconds don't they get
Yep but up hills & around corners it is a different matter, even in a crappy old Holden

Mind you my crappy old Holden whilst basically stock with bolt ons, will break traction changing from 4th to 5ft at around 200, (on a closed circuit of course)

Even my hilux will give bikes a hard time on the corners up hills etc, as soon as it opens up they are gone though.....

Yep - unfortunately this is true. I got to race Eastern Creek a few times and it was well known that the Cars were putting in equal lap times as the bikes. Only one difference - watching the cars is like watching paint dry HAHAHA

But having said that - Bikes require much less to get up to spec for such high speeds. As somebody said already - the V8's really dont share much in common with the item you buy for the road so its not comparing apples with apples.

I never found many cars that could keep up with my first bike (cbr250rr). Now im on my 1100xx i just dont bother. I mean why? Lets go flat stick and see who's rubber fails and gets us killed first. Or worse, some copper decides to have a go and pull you over and gets himself or others killed? No good can come of it.

I just cruise around and enjoy being out in the sunshine. To be honest i miss my zx6r....some would say its a bit unadventurous but I really did love that bike ('98 model black/blue/purple with gold strike) Its not all about the stats!

Does that mean you like your wimin like a 22-243....slow?

Biggest load ive heard this year.
    I have a 998 SPS
They were built for the track.
Even with higher gearing it could not do 160 in 1st..
if they could you would only need 2 gears to race cemertery cercit or paeroa. unlikely when you hear a xz10 smash 4 gears at the bend in the strate and back off @275kmh
if they can do 160 in 1st (that been the shortest gear) whats it doing in 5th - 6th, taking off and flying past the latest A380 airbus...gogo

I won't hold it against your 998, I've used 5th @ 285 down the front of terratonga but that doesn't mean they are not tall geared in first. Arron Green races his ZX10 both circuit and drag and over the 1/8 of a mile he barely clipped second gear at 200 odd k, I was just touching 3rd at the line for 190k. Feel free to disagree.
If its guns, tits or tyres it's going to cost you lots of money

    Gearing does funny things.
When I had the RX7 circuit car with the Jerrico box & 1.8 1st gear it was nuts.
3.55/3.25 was a great diff ratio for Ruapuna/Levels, smash it down through the gears into 1st at the hairpin, beats the hell out of syncros.
IIRC with the 4.62 diff was crazy, it would do about 180kph on the limiter in top, with the 2.79 diff it would do about that in first, depending on tyre size.
It was nearly impossible to keep it off the limiter in the gears with the 4.62
It was as slow as an old dog, the little V8 would just scream & stop & scream & stop as the tyres fried
The Tilton clutch weighed a little less all up than a normal pressure plate, rev city

I miss the sound of those screaming Holden V8s through the Flow master

This was my toy from before I got back into guns, im glad I gave up cars because they making playing with guns look cheap! It was 750HP at all 4 wheels and 1001NM of torque at the crank, not to bad from a 2l. A mate of mine had a new R1 at the time and from a rolling start they were even up till 250kmh where the evo would start pulling away quickly. Could only get 310kmh out of the evo on the rev limiter in 5th tho. Was good fun for a while...

    Fastest 'production' car maybe
But there is stuff in NZ that will do it twice as quick, and modded vehicles that beat it too

Who let sheep onto the racetrack I have no idea. Veeeery long skid marks, and big tyre marks on the road too. It was very traumatic for me as passenger. Cant imagine it was that great for the sheep either.
You put skid marks on a sheep

That sounds like me. Nissan Safari: Mega heavy, zip power transfered to wheels by useless slush box. Slow and easy it only way. Enjoy the slow changing scenery, actually I thing the seasons change faster than the scenery.
