Thread: Fj40 power steering

@ GKP Great Photo. I am also looking to modify my dads HJ45 over to Power Steer.

I posted a while back on FB on 40 series page, and there was a guy who was super helpful with what to get as far as putting the parts together.

Since then, it has been difficult finding more info out, on where exactly to mount the steering box. From what I can tell on your build, you have installed the steering box in the same position, however, further up the thread the other photo appears to have the steering box moved further down the frame. Meaning the battery box would have to be modified to suit new steering shaft (Not sure of the exact terminology here). I cant tell the pros or cons or reasons why the steering box would need to be moved. Are you aware?

To date I have been able to acquire an LN106 4x4 steering box and a 2H power steering pump with a separate revisor. There is a fabricator in Gore who is making me up a mount for the steering box.

It would help me out a bunch if I could as many photos as possible from your build, just so I can get my head around where exactly all this needs to go.
