Don't know what else needs to be said.
95% of my travelling is on open road, (live out of town). Not sure who the guy at the field days was, (Importer/Dealer) but i guess he would have a good idea of how many km's you get from a set of tyres, and he didn't bat an eyelid when i told him how many km's were on mine,
these tyres stick to the road in the wet, 80km corners at 100km, had no issues at all.
What size tyres are you running? i am wondering if it's the wider size on mine that is helping.
Also i rotate my tyres every 12 months, that will stop the rounding off the tyre edges.

My mate did the research, I followed his lead and bought Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac.
    Both very happy.
My Nissan ute is quieter on the 60 km Wellington to Waikanae Transmission Gully trip than my wife's Mazda CX3.
Good for 80,000 kms I'm told.
Had them for 18 months and still.look like new!
I have tried to drop the arse end out on the local roundabouts in the wet and they just don't let go.
The local Goodyear tyre shop runs these on his utes, a recommendation in itself.
I don't do serious MUD, but more than adequate on farm paddocks and forestry track.
    Good depth of tread.
    My choice next time around.

I've also been using Goodyear Duratracs (not the new R/T version) on my Ranger. Currently done 48000km and they have about 3mm left. No complaints so far. I'm a pretty sedate driver (but like to sit on the speed limit) and 95% of the time ute is unloaded. In the past would get about 30000 out of a set of M/T's.

I see you have a Triton, I wonder if that may be a factor as well as the Ranger appears to be about 350Kg or more lumpier on the road unloaded? Not sure that the profile would have much bearing on it 265 vs 275 but it could well be a factor combined with 350Kg+ less lard sitting on them. I have to run mine at 36psi in the Ranger to avoid uneven wear across the tread surface, no way I would get away with 34 but anything more is quite sharp to the point of harsh with the aftermarket shocks/struts and rear leafs in mine.

I put Maxxis RAZR AT811s on my hilux. Been very happy with them and they seem to hold on to the road well for an aggressive AT, even in the wet. Coming from cheap MTs that were simply dangerous on the road the Maxxis have been tenfold better.

I replaced the factory Dunlop? On my triton at around 30k...they probably would have made it to 40k but they started squeelling badly when pushed.
Replaced them with GiTi all terains.
    I Hate! them!!
    Ride harsh,noisy no grip.
Road holding in the wet is appalling even In the dry they let go on clean asphalt.
They hold the road worse on a modern unmodified ute than kumo or BFG mud terrains did on lifted beam axle 4wds I have owned.
They are that hard I am sure they would do 100k if my mum was driving but they will.be lucky to do 40 with me as they are always breaking traction.
Shouldn't have got tight and should have got more bfg.

Thanks for the reply all, very helpful as usual!

i have however decided to go back to the Falken Wildpeak AT3W which i have previously run and rated.

$380 PT from Kats Rolleston was the best on offer. Quite interesting the variance in price across the same tyre at different outfits!
