That is usually the problem, as I said do your homework before cutting.....it can get real complicated certing a repair on something that never should have been cut in NZ especially with some of the low volume cert guys who have no practical knowledge only a folder of shit.

I'll try the job without cutting first. I've got a reasonable engineering background and could easily do it so they wouldn't even know it had been done.

A grinder would be involved, but no welder. And I don't have the padding round the middle to go with a Santa outfit.

when it comes to new tyres time, can recommend destination ATs on them, only ever got my hairdresser stuck once in a bog out back of oreti beach. went everywhere in central otago, including upto macetown with ease. 2 door Ravs are rather scarily solid.
