Help choosing a new wagon - Vitara, Pajero etc

True, but my wagon just gets a wee trip once a month.
I will get better ones when I move back home.

Bevis, you will be doing slightly more on that tank than you think. factory tires are a 30" if your running 31" youv geared it up a bit.

I got 450km out of my 100l tank the weekend Dougie came down. Driving round slowly all night doesnt click up the kms.
On a trip i usually get 650km but im heavy footed.

Yes keep the Lux, is it turbocharged ?
You could run a low boost application to improve fuel economy.

To get the real gains from a turbo you will also have to fit a boost compensator to the injector pump.
