Hilux hybrid, price wise is getting to be the more affordable Ute, agree ranger is nicer to drive and dmax definitely have better interiors and test drove them all, but for a driver prospective the more basic controls of the hilux worked well for me. And all in with what accessories I fitted come to still be cheaper.

No noticeable differences to the previous model other then better start stop. Fuel mileage marginally better, but bigger tyres and bar add weight and cost.

Yeah went in today..my trade in was about 1..2k less than I easter so I didn't buy.. I'll await there chase up call and see what comes tomorrow. Going for manual sr5 canopy towbar liner etc. But the tow bar i can gwt from local towbar guy for half the price so that's always a option.

At the end of the day, every major brand has its share of stories about how unreliable their vehicles can be. Take the Ranger, for example—you’ll hear plenty of complaints. However, when you compare the number of issues to the sheer volume of units sold, the percentage of problems isn’t necessarily better or worse than those of a less popular ute.

Ultimately, buy what you like. It’s your money, your choice.

The internet is full of people with too much time and too many opinions—don’t let them make your decisions for you.

Just curious. Does the aftermarket towbar come with the module for the wiring.
I know the boy was unimpressed with being stung for the module when they fitted the Toy towbar.

As a workhorse type vehicle you would expect the towbar to be a standard fitting.

Bit like how they sell a vehicle then add on road costs, if it needs more money to be road legal then they are selling an unfinished product in my book, but then I'm never likely to ever buy a new vehicle anyway.

After reading all the posts in this, think I will never sell my 70 series landcruiser.

Simple, powerful, manual. A bit agricultural, and not cheap to run, but tows well, has air con.

lots of aftermarket parts now available.

100% agree if they made it standard it would make sense.. was talking with a mate yesterday and he said he even had to pay for car mats in his new mitsibishi outlander . Crazy.

Part of the issue is fleet and hire types buying the basic bog standard and then equipping with their own accessories... Too many different types of towbar setups available!

Just a note to perhaps check on any make and model you are considering. Check what type of headlights it has. Some still have halogen bulbs versus LED. I know of a 2 year old Mitsi Triton and near new Hilux hybrid the owners have complained about hopeless headlights being dull. My 2016 Navara has far better lights ( LED) than both these vehicles.

Yep, the early px rangers and bt50 variants are much much better than the later ones as another example of this. And way less electronic crap and emissions crud to go wrong...

Gone full swing. Lol. H3sfing in this weekend to drive the sr5 cruiser hybrid. After doing some research and talking to some people with them I'm more convinced about the hybrid. 8 year battery warranty on the lithium is pretty good .
