Word for the day. Will check with a dictionary and see what it means.

Yep clean and maintain my truck and car lots. The landcruiser is my daily driver and my work vehicle. If it gets muddy I wash it as soon as I get the chance. Water-blast and warm wash with heavy duty truck wash and wax a couple of times a month, vaccum it out once a month at least, wipe/clean the interior down weekly. Pays dividends at the other end for resale, helps prevent rust forming under mud, makes servicing it a damn sight more pleasant, and first impressions last when you're rocking up to a potential new clients property. The car is my wifes daily driver, but I clean it once a month as well, inside and out. I take great pride in my vehicles, I've worked hard to be able to buy and drive a nice truck and a nice car, so they deserve to be looked after. I get a lot of shit from mates about being OCD though.
I'm drawn to the mountains and the bush, it's where life is clear, where the world makes the most sense.

My cars are always filthy inside and out. But I enjoy mechanical maintenance and I keep a log with dates and km of everything as well as receipts of everything done. Will wash when it's badly muddy as mentioned above with older trucks rust forming in the wet areas is an issue

If I had been on a genuine 4wd mission I would usually give it a dam good rinse in the river on the way home to try and get the bulk of the mud off the underneath and if it was real bad with clay a water blast at home.

i think its more of a the fact it seems that the repairers are not what they used to be.

I mean it went to Mazda this time since they would have all the shit / experience to fix it and the diagnostic tools.

Funniest thing so far is i got a lecture on how hard it is to get parts overseas quickly and how difficult things are to repair ( funny given my vocation and since i work for a National distributor not too mention we keep low stock levels cause we can get suff ex Japan in 2-3 days if needed). I can only imagine what shit would hit the fan if I told one of our customers it would be a month maybe longer, we are not sure really what the cause it. Missus and I have abet it will be a duff 50 dollar sensor somewhere

Maybe I should look out for a 2001-2010 Hilus for a hunting truck.

Pre 2005 had better low down torque, softer hunting type suspension and 4wd button on gear knob, was more capable off road.

the fuked up thing i find these days is trying to get parts for a bloody nz new vehicle once upon a time it was the imports that were a hassle as for maintenence i just do an oil and filter every 10000 very ocaisionally give it a wash and a good hose off underneath

I'm not one to worry about washing vehicles very often (they get washed when it rains), but maintenance is another story - looking after the mechanical bits generally pays off long term.

If I clean the mud off my Rav 4 I would look like a towny that likes to go hiking.

My MY16 triton is signwritten with our winery logo so somewhat obligated to keep it clean, I must get some silver magnet panels made to cover the logos.
Luckily the frequent minor warranty recalls means the dealer gives it a wash every few months, last one was for the rivets used on the tonneau cover and last week they had the bolts replaced on the tow bar because they could snap
